I’m trying to come to terms with Twitter… Raising my cyber profile and all that. But I never have the time to read about how to maximise the benefits of Twitter. How do you get followers, for example? And does having followers give you a Jesus complex? Perhaps I’ll end up in my very own town in Siberia, surrounded by adoring disciples.
Or perhaps not.
The whole Twitter business is sort of addictive, though. Martin Bee, for example, who I knew in Cairo in 2001, is now a DJ in Amman. He posts regular updates on Facebook that are pretty close to Tweet sizes. They’re often very entertaining and give an idea of ex-pat life in the Middle East.
But other Facebook comments and Tweets I’ve read can be bizarrely, inconsequentially, personal that probably shouldn’t be aired outside the author’s own head.
Nevertheless I will no doubt soon be posting a clever link up from this blog to my Twitter page - when I can find time to read about how to set it up.
